Welcome to Water Diplomacy Center (WDC) - JORDAN

INTRODUCTION

We are an interdisciplinary Jordanian center for research linked to water, with a particular interest in the connections between law, policy and science.

The Water Diplomacy Centre (WDC), which was established at the end of 2019 at the Jordan University of Science and Technology with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and in cooperation the University of East Anglia as part of its Blue Peace initiatives.

The center aims to become a regional hub for research and training focal point for transboundary water cooperation and diplomacy matters. The center, also, aims to address the uncoordinated use of shared water resources, generate knowledge, coordinating research and studies, and to provide knowledge-building workshops in the field of water and diplomacy the M.E and North Africa (MENA) countries.

Besides, one of the center’s important tasks is to help open and facilitate the cooperation channels among all concerned parties; while realizing the respective policy mandates in parallel with respecting the responsibility of central government representatives for ensuring a water-secure future for the coming generations.
